Master Bedroom Redesign: Week 3 Progress – How to Add Elegance with Black Doors and Neutral Tones

Week 3 of the One Room Challenge has left me feeling exhausted but inspired! This week’s focus was all about transforming our master bedroom into a haven of sophistication (whatever that means with two younger kids; LOL).
So, what have we accomplished so far?
1. The Power of Neutrals
We began by painting the bedroom walls with the timeless and beautiful Agreeable Gray, a versatile neutral shade that sets the stage for our room’s transformation.
But since I really like Glidden Paints, I got the color match which is Whiskers.
Neutrals are not only calming but also serve as the perfect canvas for the pops of color and accents and textures I plan to introduce in the coming weeks.
2. Elegance in Black
The highlight of this week’s progress was the dramatic transformation of our bedroom doors. We decided to go bold and paint them black. The results have been absolutely stunning! The choice of black doors not only adds a touch of elegance but also elevates the entire room’s aesthetic. Our previously ordinary wooden doors now exude a sense of sophistication that we couldn’t have anticipated.
3. Matte Black Hardware
To complement the newly black doors, we took the extra step to update all the hardware with a matte black finish. This small but significant change has made a world of difference. The hardware now seamlessly blends with the doors, creating a cohesive and modern look.
