Master Bedroom Redesign: Week 2 – One Room Challenge

Welcome back to our Master Bedroom Redesign journey! Week 2 of One Room Challenge (with media partner Apartment Therapy) has been a whirlwind of progress, and we can’t wait to share our progress with you.
Here’s a quick rundown of what we’ve checked off the list so far:
1. Ceiling Transformation: We kicked off the week by tackling the ceilings. Say goodbye to that stubborn popcorn texture! The ceiling has been refinished to give the room a fresh, modern look, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.
2. Closet Revamp: To optimize the room’s layout, we made the decision to remove the small reach-in closet. This not only allowed us to square off the room but also created space for an exciting addition. We relocated the closet to the master bathroom, a move that promises both functionality and aesthetics.
3. Creating Connectivity: A new doorway to the master bathroom has been seamlessly integrated into the design. This doorway enhances the flow between spaces, making the master suite feel even more cohesive and luxurious.
4. Welcoming Natural Light: We added new windows to the room, ensuring better insulation while inviting the beauty of the outdoors inside. These windows are bound to transform the room’s ambiance.
5. Elegant Molding: To give the room an upscale touch, we installed taller crown and base moldings. These additions not only elevate the room’s aesthetic but also create a sense of quiet elegance.
6. Prepared for Perfection: Attention to detail is everything. We meticulously caulked, sanded, and prepped every surface in the room, setting the stage for a flawless paint job that will tie the entire design together.
And yes, we are TIRED!
We had professional help installing the windows, framing the new doorway and sanding down those ceilings. But the rest was pure elbow grease.
