Bold on a Budget: 3 Easy Ways to Add Black to Your Home Decor Without Breaking the Bank.

Updating your home decor can be an exciting way to give your space a fresh look and feel. However, it can also be expensive, and sometimes you may not have the budget for a full-scale renovation.

Luckily, there are simple and affordable ways to incorporate black accents into your home decor to create a more modern and bold aesthetic. Today I’m sharing three easy ways to add black to your home decor without spending a small fortune. These options include updating our banister and stairway, painting our interior doors and transforming our small powder room. These tips are sure to help you achieve a stylish and updated look on a budget.

1️⃣ Freshen up an outdated banister with a bit of paint or stain and swap out basic wood spindles with iron ones in a matte black finish for a more modern look.⁣

TIP: don’t forget to update your handrail mounting brackets to complete the look.⁣

2️⃣ Instantly enhance the look of your home and add some boldness by painting your interior doors black in a semi-matte paint finish.⁣ Paint is a quick, easy and inexpensive design trick with high impact. It’s also very DIY friendly.

TIP: a good time to also update your door knobs and hinges, either in a similar or contrasting color.⁣

Note: I used Behr prime and paint in one. I used their regular black, and chose a semi-gloss finish. It dried more like a matte/satin finish because the paint has primer in it,

3️⃣ Transform a small powder room and give it more impact with a touch of black: from the black-trimmed rounded vanity mirror, to the matte black faucet, down to the thin black picture frames.⁣

TIP: don’t forget to update that toilet flush handle in a similar finish.⁣

Incorporating black accents into your home decor is an affordable way to achieve a modern and bold aesthetic, and make a significant impact on your home’s overall look and feel.

Making regular updates to your home can also increase its overall property value (and its appeal to potential buyers — if that’s your goal), making it a smart investment.

I hope you found these tips helpful and they inspire you to get creative with your home decor. However, it’s important to remember that curating a home is not a one-time event, but an ongoing process. It takes time, effort, and patience to create a space that truly feels like yours.

So take it one step at a time and don’t feel discouraged if your home doesn’t look exactly like you want it to right away. With persistence and dedication, you can create the home of your dreams.
