Cozy Neutral Bedroom with a Touch of Glam!

Neutrals make me happy; they really do!

And neutrals, by the way, are not limited to whites, beiges and tans. Gray can be a beautiful neutral. But neutrals require a lot of textures and layering to amplify the look and create that cohesive flow!

TIP: Start with a clean base and build your layers!

For me, that usually means crisp white bedding. This time, I punched up my beautiful hemstitched bedding from Schweitzer Linen with dark beige fitted sheets. I also paired it with a textured animal print throw, all in that same beige /white palette.

TIP: For most bedrooms, the bed is the anchor and sets the mood for the whole space.

The bed had to sing, there’s no other way to say it. Taking center stage and grabbing all the attention in beauty, comfort and quiet luxury. All the layers and subtle textures of this BRIGHTON 600-thread count Egyptian cotton sheet and duvet set contributed to this elegant look.

Expand the neutral palette to the night stands, moving similar textures and color around the room.

A little welcome corner, with faux or real flowers, is a great way to make your guests feel special. I usually also include a basket with dry snacks and bottles of water on this tray, along with our WIFI password.

Whenever possible, always include a live plant in all your spaces. Plants add energy, warmth and color without taking up much space.

And, include mirrors. In this room, I use a large, almost floor-to-ceiling mirror to move the light around the room and also reflect all the beauty from the other side.

To help with creating a focal point, a simple and inexpensive wall art that speaks to you can really make a difference. This slightly weathered sign was the perfect emotive statement for this room.
