You’ve been BOO’ED!!⁣ – Boo Basket Idea for Halloween

A couple of years ago, our neighbors secretly surprised us with a Boo Basket, left on our front porch and filled with Halloween goodies! Of course, the kids were thrilled. I on the other hand didn’t know this was a “thing.”

A few keyboard strokes later, my Google search results explained it all. And just like that, a new fun Wilson Family tradition was born. The kids and I were now excited to go shopping, create a boo basket and pay it forward by booing (or gifting) another neighbor.

CREATING A BOO BASKET

Easy, peasy!

  • Set a budget; ours was $20.
  • Go to your favorite local store; we went to Target and Dollar Tree.
  • Let the kids pick out the goodies; they know what’s hip and what other little kids like.

Once home, arrange all the goodies inside the basket and create a fun and festive BOO note on your computer, print it and insert it in your basket.

I created my custom note in PhotoShop but if you don’t have the time or software, you can click here for a downloadable sample!

Dropping off a Halloween Boo Basket is almost as fun as trick-or-treating (and in some cases, perhaps safer, given this pandemic).   We’re looking forward to spreading some BOO Halloween cheer in our neighborhood again this year.

You should try it! It’s also a great way to bond with your kids, teaching them to think about others and to do for others.   Have y’all “BOO’ED” your neighbors before? Do tell.
